Fairfield Woman Allegedly Stole Vehicle, Drove It with Owner Locked in Trunk, Police Say
FAIRFIELD, CA — “On September 25 at approximately 8:15 p.m., Fairfield Police officers responded to the 2400 block of Oceanic Drive after a vehicle was reported stolen with a victim inside the trunk.
Shortly after the initial call, the victim was able to call 911 and provide updates to dispatchers about their location. Dispatchers quickly relayed that information to officers responding to the area.
Members of our Real-Time Intelligence Center (RTIC) also launched a Drone as First Responder to help locate the victim and the stolen vehicle. The drone provided officers with an aerial view and allowed them to monitor the situation as it unfolded.
The victim was able to get out of the vehicle, while the suspect, identified as 28-year-old Rhiana Holt, drove away. Officers initiated a pursuit of the vehicle, which eventually stopped in a business parking lot in the 1500 block of W. Texas Street.
Holt refused to get out of the vehicle and was taken into custody by officers. She was arrested for several charges, including kidnapping, assault with a deadly weapon, evading police, and resisting arrest.
This incident was a great example of teamwork between our dispatchers, officers, and RTIC personnel. Their combined efforts helped locate and safely recover the victim, recover the stolen vehicle, and take the suspect into custody.”
