Juvenile Suspect, 15, Arrested in Relation to Chico Stabbing and Burglary
CHICO, CA — “A 15-year-old male was arrested following a family dispute and stabbing incident yesterday evening. Around 3:50pm on September 28, 2026, the Chico Police Department received an emergency call reporting a possible residential burglary in progress. The boyfriend of the reporting party’s juvenile daughter was attempting to break into their residence while both juveniles could be heard yelling threats towards the parents. On the open 9-1-1 line, Dispatchers could hear screaming and reports of a knife.
When Officers arrived at the home, they learned the male juvenile had fled on foot. The female juvenile was detained, and a perimeter was established to take the outstanding suspect, seen jumping fences in the area, into custody. Officers were able to facilitate a surrender, and the suspect was located nearby. He was arrested without further incident.
An adult male victim suffering from multiple stab wounds was transported via ambulance to Enloe Hospital for treatment of his injuries, which were considered serious but non-life threatening.
The male suspect was transported to Juvenile Hall, and the following charges will be forwarded to Butte County Probation for review. Based on their recommendation, charges may be filed with the Butte County District Attorney’s Office.
