GFiber Contractor Arrested for Unauthorized Access and Sharing Explicit Media From Customer’s Phone
IRVINE, CA — Irvine Police Department detectives arrested a 37-year-old internet installer on Friday, Sept. 11, 2026, following allegations that he accessed a customer’s personal device to send himself an explicit video during a home service appointment.
The incident was reported on Sept. 9 by an Irvine resident who stated that an installer asked to use her cell phone to test the Wi-Fi signal during an August internet installation for GFiber (formerly Google Fiber). The victim reported that after 10 to 15 minutes, she checked on the worker but could not see his activity on the device.
She later discovered via a linked iPad that a private, sexually explicit video originally sent to her partner had been forwarded from her phone to an unfamiliar phone number and deleted from her sent messages. Investigators traced the receiving phone number to Logan Edward Gray-McCannon, 37, of Hemet. GFiber later clarified to police that Gray-McCannon was employed as a contractor through ITC Service Group Acquisition.
Detectives arrested Gray-McCannon at his Hemet residence on the afternoon of Sept. 11. He was booked into the Orange County Jail on charges of commercial burglary, non-consensual sharing of a private sexual image, and unauthorized computer access.
