Two Arrested for Catalytic Converter Theft in Early Morning Search
CYPRESS, CA — Cypress Police Department night shift officers apprehended two individuals in connection with a catalytic converter theft reported during the early morning hours of April 17, 2026. After receiving a report of the theft, officers conducted a search of the surrounding residential area and located a vehicle that matched the description provided for the suspects.
Law enforcement initiated a high-risk traffic stop on the occupied vehicle and detained the two occupants. Both individuals were identified as residents of Los Angeles and were confirmed to be on probation. Additionally, one suspect was found to have several outstanding warrants for her arrest.
A search of the vehicle yielded the stolen catalytic converter, along with a vehicle jack, gloves, and various power tools. Both suspects were arrested on charges of grand theft and conspiracy, as well as the existing warrants. They were subsequently booked into the Orange County Jail.
