Alleged Jewelry Store Robber Arrested With Help of Social Media

IRVINE — On October 26, the Irvine Police Department reached out to the public asking for assistance in identifying a jewelry store robbery suspect. The suspect has since been identified and arrested.

The suspect was reportedly holding an expensive necklace when he suddenly ran out of the store. Employees pursued him but were unsuccessful. The suspect was described as African-American, wearing a white shirt and black pants.

He was also said to have left the scene in a gray Toyota Corolla model being in between 2012 and 2018.

The store is located in the Irvine Spectrum. The robbery took place on October 17.

The suspect was later identified as Fredemclave Ishan Benjaminanderson (20) of Menifee.

Fredemclave Ishan Benjaminanderson was arrested and booked with burglary and robbery charges.
