Enforcement Stop on Interstate 5 Near O’Brien Road: 40 Pounds of Meth Discovered
SHASTA COUNTY, CA — “On Saturday, August 29, 2026, at approximately 8:50 AM, Shasta County Sheriff’s deputies conducted an enforcement stop on a vehicle on northbound Interstate 5 near the O’Brien Road exit for a traffic violation. The driver of the vehicle was identified as 32-year-old Adrian Danny Lopez of Madera, CA.
Lopez did not have a valid driver’s license, and a search of the vehicle was conducted. During the vehicle search, 40 pounds of suspected methamphetamine was located.
After discovering the suspected narcotics, the Shasta Interagency Narcotics Task Force (SINTF) was contacted and responded to assume the investigation.
SINTF detectives arrested Lopez and booked him into the Shasta County Jail on charges of 11378 HS, Possess Controlled Substance for Sale; 11379(a) HS, Transport/Etc. Controlled Substance; and 12500(a) VC, Driving Without a License.
Lopez’s bail is set at $500,000.”
