High-Speed Pursuit Across Napa and Sonoma Counties Ends with Three Arrested, Including Two Probation Absconders
NAPA, CA — A high-speed pursuit spanning two counties ended in arrests Tuesday after a fleeing vehicle spun out of control in Sonoma County, law enforcement officials reported.
On September 1, 2026, detectives with the Napa Police Department’s Special Enforcement Unit attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a Chrysler 300 for vehicle code violations. The vehicle failed to yield, initiating a pursuit that traveled south along Highway 29 before turning west onto Highway 12 toward Sonoma.
During the pursuit, the Chrysler reached speeds exceeding 100 mph and passed other motorists using the right shoulder. The chase concluded when the driver attempted a high-speed right turn, causing the vehicle to spin out of control, damage a front tire, and come to rest on Napa Road just north of Highway 12 in Sonoma County.
Officers detained all four occupants of the vehicle and subsequently arrested three:
- Driver (17-year-old male): Arrested on active warrants for cutting off a probation GPS monitor following release from Juvenile Hall, along with new charges related to the pursuit.
- Rear Passenger (18-year-old male): Arrested on active warrants for cutting off a probation GPS monitor following release from Juvenile Hall.
- Front Passenger (19-year-old male): Taken into custody and arrested at the scene.
