Multi-Agency Task Force Serves Search Warrants Following Del Rio Drive-By Shooting

MODESTO, CA  — On Tuesday, July 2, 2026, at approximately 3:41 a.m., deputies with Salida Police Services responded to multiple 911 reports of gunfire in the 7000 block of Carver Road in the Del Rio community of Modesto.

Upon arrival, deputies located a residential structure and several parked vehicles in the driveway that had sustained damage from bullet impacts. Investigators confirmed that two adults and one child were inside the home during the shooting; no injuries were reported.

Following the initial response, the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office launched a joint investigation in coordination with federal partners, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Homeland Security Investigations, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

As part of the active inquiry, law enforcement personnel executed multi-location search warrants across several central California communities spanning from Fresno to Sacramento. During the operation, federal and local investigators recovered six firearms.

Sheriff’s officials stated that formal charges remain pending and the motive for the drive-by shooting remains under investigation. Detectives request anyone with information to contact the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office or submit an anonymous tip through Stanislaus Regional Crime Stoppers.
