On August 1, 2026, at approximately 9:14 a.m., officers responded to the 3200 block of Sonoma Boulevard after receiving a report of an unresponsive male in a parking lot. Officers located an adult male suffering from at least one gunshot wound and showing no signs of life. Emergency Medical Services responded and pronounced the victim deceased at the scene. Detectives responded again and took over the investigation.

Through witness statements, forensic evidence, physical evidence recovered during the investigations, and additional investigative leads, detectives identified Angel Castillo Ramirez, a 30-year-old unhoused Vallejo resident, as the suspect. During the course of the investigation, detectives also recovered a firearm, which has been submitted for forensic examination.

Later that day, at approximately 4:49 p.m., a witness contacted the detectives and identified Angel Ramirez as the suspect in both homicides. The witness also provided Ramirez’s description and current location. Following his arrest, Ramirez was advised of his Miranda Rights and agreed to speak with detectives. During the interview, Ramirez admitted to committing both homicides and the assault with a firearm that occurred on July 28, 2026.

Angel Ramirez was booked into the Solano County Jail on charges including two counts of murder and one count of assault with a deadly weapon involving a firearm. The Solano County District Attorney’s Office will review the case and determine the final charges filed.
