Stolen Firearm Recovered, Two Arrested

The Fairfield Police Department caught two people recently in possession of a stolen gun –

“Fairfield Police Officers arrested two people in connection with a stolen firearm Sunday afternoon, June 28. Officer Weist made a traffic stop on a white BMW for a vehicle code violation near the intersection of Heath and Dahlia around 2:30 pm.

He contacted the occupants and developed probable cause to search the vehicle, based on contraband that was being transported unlawfully.

Officer Weist found a loaded handgun in the car. The gun had been reported stolen out of Sacramento. Officer Weist arrested the occupants, 33 year old Walnut Creek resident Julian Barkus, and 33 year old Antioch resident Dekeisha Lindsey, for a number of charges including possession of a stolen firearm and possession of a loaded, concealed firearm.

Barkus was also charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm. Both subjects were booked into Solano County Jail.”
