FAIRFIELD – A high speed chase through the streets on June 4 eventually resolved in the runner’s arrest.

It started when deputies spotted a stolen truck after checking its license plate number.  27-year-old Bobby White did not comply when they tried to stop him. He took off and sped through city streets, up to 80 mph.

The fleeing suspect crashed into another vehicle, reversed and hit into a police SUV.  Then he drove some more.

Deputies found the unoccupied truck on Webster Street. Witness directed them t an apartment complex where White ran.

Deputies set up a perimeter, cleared the apartment complex and brought in SWAT and the Crisis Negotiation Team.

White would not come out willingly, so SWAT went in and arrested him. SCSO charged him with hit and run and felony evasion.

The SCSO says, “Thankfully no one was hurt.”  They added that the moral of the story is – don’t run when you are pulled over.”
