Domestic disturbance call results in sexual assault arrest

Benicia – Michael Joseph Wallace, 34, of Benicia was arrested and charged with multiple counts related to sexual assault of a minor, more specifically his 16-year-old step-daughter.

At approximately 1:43 a.m., Sunday March 17, Benicia police were dispatched to the 700 block of Military East, based on a report of a possible domestic disturbance. On their arrival at the residence, a 34-year-old female told police that she’d come home to find her husband, Wallace, sexually assaulting her 16-year-old daughter.

Wallace had taken off before police arrived on the scene. On discovering he’d fled, Benicia PD detectives were called and became involved in the case.

At approximately 3:00 a.m. Benicia officers drove to a residence in the 200 block of Manhattan Street in nearby Vallejo and proceeded to take Wallace into custody without incident. He was then booked into Solano County Jail. According to a police press release the sexual abuse had been taking place for some time.
