FREMONT, CA — Taylor M. Clausen, 37, of San Rafael, remains behind bars charged for
attempted murder, pending a bail hearing in August. Clausen allegedly stabbed a victim in the
neck during a house party in Fremont.
He was arrested later the same night on July 25.
A disturbance culminating in a violent altercation was reported that Saturday night. Police and
paramedics rushed to the scene. One victim suffering from stab wounds was transported to a
nearby hospital. No other injuries were reported.
Police determined that Clausen was the suspect responsible for the violent knife attack.
Clausen was placed under arrest at 3:30 a.m. He was booked into Alameda County Santa
Rita Jail a few hours later at 7:25 a.m.
“The victim received emergency medical treatment and survived the attack,” says a prepared
statement from the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office. “Clausen is charged with
attempted murder, and assault with a deadly weapon/personal use of a knife.”
Clausen also faces additional special allegations and charges. The other charges filed against
Clausen include inflicting great bodily injury on a person, planning and sophistication of crime.
He is scheduled to appear in court for a bail hearing on August 7.
