Two Arrested Following Shoplifting Investigations at Susanville Retailers
SUSANVILLE, CA — Two individuals were arrested Wednesday following investigations into separate shoplifting incidents at local retailers, according to the Susanville Police Department.
Kristina Lee, 36, and Tyler Pomelow, 28, were taken into custody on June 24, 2026. Both face charges of grand theft and conspiracy.
The arrests followed a multi-day investigation by local authorities. According to a press release issued by Interim Public Safety Chief Allen Sobol, the sequence of events began on June 20, 2026, when Susanville police officers responded to a reported shoplifting incident at Walmart. Officers reviewed surveillance footage and identified a female suspect, prompting the opening of an active investigation.
Three days later, on June 23, officers responded to a second shoplifting report at Ace Hardware. Surveillance footage from the second location captured both a male and a female suspect. Upon reviewing the footage, investigators determined that the female suspect involved in the Ace Hardware theft matched the suspect from the prior Walmart incident.
Using descriptions from the surveillance footage, officers located the two unhoused suspects at the location where they were staying and confirmed their identities.
Lee and Pomelow were arrested on June 24 and booked into the Lassen County Adult Detention Facility.
Authorities confirmed that a significant portion of the stolen merchandise was successfully recovered during the arrest and has been returned to both Walmart and Ace Hardware.
The Susanville Police Department expressed appreciation to the staff at Walmart and Ace Hardware for their prompt reporting and cooperation, as well as the Lassen County Sheriff’s Office for its assistance in recovering the stolen property.
