HERCULES, CA — Hercules police detectives have arrested 32-year-old Daniel A. Glass for his alleged involvement in a waterfront shooting that occurred last year. Glass remains in custody on parole-hold at the Martinez Detention Facility. Glass is accused of attempted murder.
No one was injured in the shooting that happened on August 2, 2025, near the intersection of Bayfront Boulevard and Earnest Street. The area is an open space popular with joggers and walkers.
The victim told police that he was sitting inside his parked car when a masked man approached him on foot, and opened fire. The victim managed to escape injury and hit the gas, while the suspect fired more shots striking his car as he fled.
Hercules detectives conducted an extensive investigation to identify Glass as the suspect. Evidence implicating Glass was systematically gathered. Investigators checked automated license plate readers, cell phone records, local surveillance video recordings, and ballistics data.
Glass was taken into custody on July 1, 2026, on an outstanding warrant for attempted murder, according to a statement released by Hercules police. Glass must remain in custody until state parole revocation proceedings are resolved. Depending on the outcome, he could be released from custody on $1.4 million bond.
