Two Suspects Arrested in Connection with June Murder of Banning Resident
BANNING, CA — Detectives from the Banning Police Department Detective Bureau, with assistance from the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office Gang Impact Team, arrested two suspects on June 18, 2026, in connection with the June murder of 21-year-old David Hernandez-Enriques.
The investigation began on June 7, 2026, when Banning police officers responded to a 10:57 p.m. report of a shooting near 6th Street and Ramsey Street. Officers located Hernandez-Enriques in the 600 block of W. Ramsey Street suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, and he was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Following the investigation, authorities arrested Fernando Maryon Miranda Jr., 34, at 3:06 p.m. in the 300 block of E. Ramsey Street in Banning. Later that evening, at 7:50 p.m., detectives arrested Damaso Ruben Santellanomurillo, 22, in the 200 block of W. Dale Street in Beaumont. Both individuals were processed at the Banning Police Department and booked into the Robert Presley Detention Facility in Riverside.
Each suspect faces charges of Penal Code 187(a) – Murder, Penal Code 186.22(a) – Active Participation in a Criminal Street Gang, and Penal Code 32 – Accessory.
