San Bernardino Man Arrested on Murder Charges Following Fatal Incident in Riverside

RIVERSIDE, CA – On Sunday, May 24, 2026, at approximately 12:39 a.m., the City of Riverside Public Safety Communications Center received multiple reports of an assault with a deadly weapon involving a vehicle in the 3500 block of Franklin Avenue, located in the Eastside neighborhood.

Upon arrival, Riverside Police Department officers located several individuals who had been struck by a vehicle. One victim, identified as 20-year-old Daisy Sandoval of San Bernardino, was pronounced deceased at the scene. Two other victims were transported to local hospitals in critical condition, while two additional individuals sustained serious injuries.

Detectives from the Robbery–Homicide Unit and the Forensics Unit assumed the investigation, with assistance from the Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner’s Office.

According to preliminary findings, the suspect, 19-year-old Brian Sandoval of San Bernardino, had attended a “flyer party” in the area that was shut down earlier in the evening by the Riverside Police Department. Following the conclusion of the event, a robbery and subsequent altercation occurred in the street. Investigators determined that during this incident, Sandoval intentionally used his vehicle to strike multiple individuals.

Sandoval was detained at the scene by responding officers and later booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center on murder charges. He is currently being held on $1,000,000 bail.
