Multiple Burglary Incidents – Search Warrant Reveals $ Thousands Snagged in False-Pretense Conspiracy

PALM DESERT – When multiple burglary incidents were reported on April 3, 2022, the La Quinta Special Enforcement Team (SET) stepped in. A business on the 79000 block of Highway 111, in La Quinta had been targeted.

A series of hits occurred between August 17, 2021 and April 3rd. A search warrant was authored for a property-related search on the 73000 block of Olive Court.

SET arrived on Cinco de Mayo for a search involving two named residents. There was reason to believe that there would be much to find that had disappeared from the business during the 8-month time span.

Cindy Bauman, (49), “was arrested for three counts of Burglary, Theft by False Pretenses and Conspiracy to commit burglary,” said Sergeant Jamie Lewis. “Also arrested was Vincent Bright, (37), for three counts of Burglary, Theft by False Pretenses and Conspiracy to commit burglary.”

$9000+ worth of stolen merchandise was recovered. Bauman and Bright were taken into custody and booked at the John J. Benoit Detention Center.
