Palm Springs Resident Arrested for Alleged Tahquitz Canyon Shooting

“On Tuesday, August 1st, at 10:25 PM the Palm Springs Police Department responded to reports of a shooting, on the 2600 block of E. Tahquitz Canyon Way. Two people sustained non-life-threatening gunshot wounds, during the incident.

One suspect identified as 22 year-old Joel Benitez of Palm Springs, is now in custody. Officers are currently working to determine the motive. It is important to note, there is no immediate danger to the public’s safety.
