Two Winters Residents Arrested After Multi-Agency Search Recovers Over $35,000 in Stolen Property
WOODLAND, CA — In early June, Yolo County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a burglary report at a horse boarding facility located in the 24000 block of County Road 95 in Yolo County. A variety of items associated with western and English horseback riding, including saddles, tack, and riding equipment, were reported stolen from the property. The initial estimated loss resulting from the burglary was approximately $25,000.
Yolo County Sheriff’s detectives collaborated with patrol deputies to conduct an undercover investigation into the incident. The investigation resulted in the identification of two suspects: 34-year-old Bobby Lawrence and 42-year-old Carina Sullivan, both residents of Winters.
On June 9, detectives from the Yolo County Sheriff’s Office, with assistance from the West Sacramento Police Department and the Woodland Police Department, executed a Yolo County search warrant at a residential property in the 25000 block of Buckeye Road in Winters. During the execution of the warrant, law enforcement personnel recovered approximately 90 percent of the stolen horse tack and riding equipment.
Investigators also discovered additional stolen property at the residence that was connected to burglaries at neighboring properties. The items recovered included a riding lawn mower, a welding machine, a pressure washer, power tools, hunting gear, and fishing equipment. The combined value of all the recovered property exceeded $35,000.
Lawrence and Sullivan were arrested and booked into the Yolo County Jail on theft and criminal conspiracy-related charges. Following the arrests, detectives initiated the process of returning the recovered items to the owners, and the Yolo County Sheriff’s Office acknowledged the West Sacramento Police Department and Woodland Police Department for their assistance in the case.
