DAVIS — A local man faces felony charges of false imprisonment and sexual battery after a month-long investigation into an incident at an acquaintance’s apartment complex in late July.

On July 26, some time after becoming acquainted with the victim, 27-year-old Seyyed Ehsun “Taba” Tabatabaifar allegedly met her and her friend at the friend’s apartment, as the three had made plans to go bar-hopping.

At some point while still at the apartment, in full few of the friend, Tabatabaifar is said to have suddenly, without warning, restrained the victim from behind in what was essentially a bear-hug and further sexually battered her against her will.

Both women used physical force to fight him off and the victim locked herself in a nearby room. Tabatabaifar fled the scene on foot.

Police conducted an extensive investigation and ultimately arrested Tabatabaifar on August 28th.
