Merced County Authorities Investigate Shooting at Winton Community Park
WINTON, CA — June 17th 2026 — “Yesterday evening, just before 8 pm, Deputies responded to the Winton Community Park located at 7155 Olive Avenue in Winton for a shooting. Witnesses reported that an adult male was shot multiple times while in the parking lot of the park, while a little league baseball practice was occurring nearby.
Deputies swiftly arrived and immediately began life-saving measures before the victim was transported to a local area hospital, where he remains in critical condition. No other individuals were injured during the incident. Through their investigation, Detectives were able to develop information on several persons of interest related to the shooting.
Early this morning, our SWAT team was activated to assist Detectives with serving three search warrants related to this incident in the 1000 block of Front Street in the City of Livingston. Detectives are currently speaking to two persons of interest, and this incident remains an active investigation.
