“The Police Department is currently investigating a collision which occurred at the intersection of Pacheco Boulevard and Center Avenue.
The driver, 50-year-old Nemario Vasquez of Merced, was observed driving a stolen vehicle and failed to yield to police lights/sirens. Vasquez crashed the stolen car into a parked vehicle and an unoccupied building before attempting to run from the area.
Officers took Vasquez into custody after a short foot chase and after he is medically cleared he will be booked into the Los Banos Police Department Jail.
This area will be partially closed for approximately 30 minutes while emergency crews are on scene.”
