Suspect Arrested in Stolen Vehicle

“On January 28, 2021 at about 4:00 p.m., the Los Banos Police Department responded to the Home Depot to investigate a theft. The responding officer learned that the suspect(s) were observed leaving the area with stolen property in a moving truck.

Approximately one hour later, Officers with the Department’s Gang Unit located the suspect vehicle in the area of Vineyard Street and Elmwood Drive. The Officers stopped the vehicle and detained the driver, 32-year-old Leticia Sanchez of Los Banos.

A records check confirmed the moving truck had been reported stolen out of Sunnyvale CA. During a search, Officers located suspected stolen mail from residents in Los Banos.

Sanchez was booked into the Los Banos Police Department, charged with vehicle theft and possession of stolen property. Detectives are still investigating the original theft at the Home Depot and the mail theft.

The Police Department kindly asks that everyone be responsible and respectful when leaving comments.
