Driver Arrested Following Vehicle Pursuit and Assault on Officers in Fullerton

FULLERTON, CA  — A female driver was taken into custody on the night of May 2nd on multiple felony and misdemeanor charges after a report of a person being followed escalated into a vehicle pursuit and a collision with police vehicles.

Officers originally responded to a call for service from a female individual who reported that she was being followed. While checking the immediate area, officers were initially unable to locate the caller. As they prepared to clear the assignment, they observed a passing vehicle that matched the physical description provided in the initial dispatch.

Officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop, but the driver did not immediately yield. Upon making contact with the vehicle, officers reported observing the female driver inhaling nitrous oxide from a balloon. The driver subsequently refused multiple verbal commands to exit the vehicle.

As officers attempted to gain entry to the vehicle, the driver accelerated forward, striking a parked vehicle and forcing nearby officers to move out of the path of the vehicle. The driver then placed the vehicle in reverse, striking an occupied patrol car. The driver continued to accelerate the engine after the vehicle was pinned in place by a responding patrol unit.

Officers managed to secure the vehicle and took the driver into custody without further incident. The individual was booked on multiple charges, including driving under the influence of drugs (DUI-Drugs), obstruction of justice, driving without a license, and assault with a deadly weapon.
