Convicted Felon Arrested Following Weapons and Ammunition Seizure in Oceanside
OCEANSIDE, CA – Oceanside Police Department officers arrested a convicted felon on multiple firearm-related charges following a welfare check that led to the discovery of weapons, high-capacity magazines, and body armor.
The initial response occurred on April 13, 2026, when patrol officers were dispatched to conduct a welfare check regarding a reported public disturbance. Witnesses at the scene reported that a firearm had been brandished during the encounter.
Through subsequent follow-up investigations, detectives identified a suspect in the case. Investigators determined the individual was a convicted felon who was living inside a commercial work van and utilizing a local storage unit. Detectives secured and executed a search warrant targeting the suspect’s properties.
The search resulted in the recovery of multiple firearms, several high-capacity magazines, thousands of rounds of live ammunition, and a set of body armor.
Following the weapons seizure, detectives located the suspect in the vicinity of Mission Avenue. The individual was contacted by law enforcement personnel and taken into custody without further incident. He was booked on multiple felony charges relating to the illegal possession of firearms and ammunition by a convicted felon.
