ANTIOCH —Zahvon Hopson, 22, of Antioch, remains in custody in lieu of $2 million bond, charged
with murder. Hopson was arrested on April 10 by a San Diego special investigations unit, working with
Antioch homicide investigators.
Hopson was transported from San Diego to Contra Costa County on April 12. He was booked into the
Martinez Detention Facility. Prior to his capture police described Hopson as being armed and
dangerous.
Charges filed on April 13 against Hopson include murder, and intentional discharge of a firearm. He is
also charged with possession of firearm by a felon or narcotic addict, and possession of firearm with a
prior juvenile adjudication.
The homicide victim Dimon Commodore, 20, of Antioch, was fatally shot on February 19 at
approximately 7:17 p.m.
The shooting occurred outside on the 2200 block of Sycamore Drive in
Antioch. She was pronounced dead shortly after police and paramedics responded to the scene.
A secondary investigation is underway to identify any potential accessory who may have helped
Hopson flee to Southern California.
Antioch police said in a prepared statement. “Any individuals who
assisted Hopson in evading the law enforcement, or anyone who assists Hopson in the future will be
subject to arrest.”
