REDDING, CA — Police are investigating a stabbing that occurred in the early hours of yesterday morning near Athens Avenue.
According to a press release by the Redding Police Department, officers responded to the 2300 block of Athens Ave. just after 1:30 a.m. on Thursday, Mar. 12, after dispatch received a call reporting that a man may have been stabbed.
Responding officers located the victim, described as a male in his mid 30s, who had suffered a stab wound to the chest. After initial treatment at the scene, the victim was transported to an area hospital for surgery. He is reportedly expected to survive.
Any suspect or suspects are currently known, police said.
