$160K Recovered After Investigation Links Bank Insider to Marin County Robberies
– By Jim Emerson
NOVATO, CA — Multiple investigations coalesced in arrests of three suspects implicated in
robberies of bank customers who withdrew large sums of cash. One of the suspects, a bank
employee, allegedly coordinated the robberies of the victims.
The suspects arrested on February 6 are:
· Alexis M. Flores, 25, of Vallejo
· Danielle Z. Torres, 29, of Vallejo
· Alexander R. Cunningham, 30 of San Pablo
Flores, Torres and Cunningham were booked at Marin County Jail on suspicion of robbery,
conspiracy to commit crime, and related charges.
While working at a bank in Novato, Flores allegedly provided inside information for the other
suspects who followed victims. Marin County Sheriff’s Office detectives reviewed security
videos to identify one suspect implicated in a robbery that happened on November 29.
The video shows the vehicle of the suspect who followed a victim leaving the bank, according
to a prepared statement from the sheriff’s office. “Detectives were able to confirm the
registered owner of the vehicle, and began to investigate known associates.”
Investigators learned that other victims who went to the same bank in Novato were robbed at
various locations in Marin County. These robberies occurred on September 1 and November
29, and January 4, and January 14. The victim of the January 4 robbery was reportedly shot
but survived.
Novato and San Rafael police investigated robberies within their jurisdictions, and the sheriff’s
office investigated a robbery that happened in an unincorporated area of Novato.
All three investigations coalesced on February 6, when Novato PD, San Rafael PD and the
sheriff’s department executed search warrants at the suspects’ residences. Investigators
recovered $160,000 in cash from Cunningham’s residence.
