Lassen County Authorities Investigate Reported Gunfire near Elementary School

SUSANVILLE, CA — Lassen County authorities have reportedly opened an investigation into shots fired near an elementary school last month.

According to a press release, deputies with the Lassen County Sheriff’s Office responded on the morning of Friday, Jan. 16, to a report of shots fired near Johnstonville Elementary School on Banham Lane.

A patrol unit already in the area responded to the scene and canvassed the area, but no evidence or suspects were located.

Authorities ultimately concluded that there’d been no threat to public safety, but are seeking information. Anyone with knowledge relevant to the investigation is encouraged to reach out to the sheriff’s office dispatch at 530-257-6121.
