Suspected Drug Dealer Arrested in Undercover Sting Operation

SAN RAFAEL — Marin County Sheriff’s Office detectives arrested Cristian Diaz-Villatoro, 33,
of Oakland, following an investigation involving methamphetamine sales.

Diaz-Villatoro was booked at Marin County Jail on January 8, and a large quantity of drug evidence was seized.

A sting operation was conducted in San Rafael prior to the suspect’s arrest. “An undercover
detective contacted Diaz-Villatoro and arranged to purchase crystal methamphetamine,”
according to news release from the sheriff’s department. “Diaz-Villatoro sold more than 12
ounces of methamphetamine to the detective.”

Diaz-Villatoro allegedly sold drugs to undercover detectives multiple times during a
monthslong investigation of him. At the time of his arrest, he had in his possession a large
quantity of illicit drugs and a digital scale. Detective recovered the following evidence from
him –

· 2.5 pounds of fentanyl
· 44 grams of cocaine
· 173 grams of heroin
· 30 Xanax pills
· 200 oxycodone pills

Detectives obtained a warrant to search the suspect’s residence, where $3,000 in cash was
recovered as evidence of drug dealing.

Diaz-Villatoro was booked on four counts of possession of methamphetamine for sale, and
four counts of transporting methamphetamine for sale. In addition, he was booked for
possession of cocaine for sale, and possession and transportation of a controlled substance
for sale. His bond was set at $150,000 for release from custody.

The suspect is no stranger to law enforcement in the San Francisco Bay area. In fact, Diaz-
Villatoro has prior arrests involving possession and sales of controlled substances.
