DUI Driver Arrested after Allegedly Leading Authorities on Erratic Vehicle Pursuit

KETTLEMAN CITY, CA — “On Friday, January 2, 2026, Kings County Sheriff’s Office deputies safely ended a dangerous vehicle pursuit in Kettleman City after the California Highway Patrol (CHP) successfully deployed spike strips near the business district, disabling the suspect’s vehicle.

Prior to the pursuit, the driver was the subject of multiple reports of reckless driving and posed a significant danger to fellow motorists. The driver was later determined to be driving with a blood alcohol level more than three times the legal limit.

At the scene, the suspect refused to comply with lawful commands. Deputies deployed less-lethal munitions, allowing the suspect to be taken into custody safely and without major injury.”
