Nine Arrested Following In-Progress Burglary at Salinas Cannabis Facility

SALINAS, CA — Law enforcement officials detained eight adults and one juvenile following a reported in-progress burglary at a commercial cannabis greenhouse facility in Salinas early Tuesday morning. The incident, which occurred on December 15, 2025, also resulted in the recovery of multiple firearms and a quantity of marijuana.

The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office received a report around 3:40 AM detailing a break-in at a facility on Encinal Road. The report indicated that approximately ten individuals had entered the greenhouse and were loading marijuana into four separate vehicles. Deputies from the Sheriff’s Office responded to the location, assisted by officers from the Salinas Police Department and the California Highway Patrol (CHP).

Shortly after the initial response, all four vehicles were located in the vicinity of Encinal Road and Old Stage Road. Authorities report that the drivers of all four vehicles failed to comply with commands to yield. Three of the vehicles were eventually stopped, with several occupants attempting to flee on foot. One vehicle became immobile after driving into a field, another became stuck in a ditch, and a third was involved in a collision with a CHP vehicle. The fourth vehicle successfully evaded apprehension.

Eight adults and one male juvenile were taken into custody. The adults were booked into the Monterey County Jail, facing charges that include Burglary, Conspiracy to Commit a Felony, Possession of Stolen Property, and Possession of a Loaded Firearm, among others. The juvenile was booked into Monterey County Juvenile Hall.

The arrested adults have been identified as Jalen Camp, 23, of San Francisco; Zakhiry Coleman, 18, of San Francisco; Charles Hall, 21, of Antioch; Cory Woodruff, 28, of Oakland; Jonathan Green, 24, of San Francisco; Jose Velasco, 18, of San Francisco; Dominic Logan, 30, with an unknown city of residence; and Dominick Leon Troupe, 30, of Fremont.
