MARTINEZ — A multi-agency investigation resulted in recent arrests of two male juveniles suspected
of stealing cars in Alameda and Contra Costa counties. The suspects are a 16-year-old from
Richmond, and a 17-year-old from San Pablo.
Several cars were reported stolen to Livermore police in Alameda County, between October 17 and
October 19. Additional cars were also reported stolen to Danville police in Contra Costa County.
An investigation launched by Livermore police expanded to include agencies in multiple jurisdictions.
Livermore investigators collaborated with the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office, and police from
Danville, Richmond and San Pablo.
Livermore police said in a prepared statement. “This collaborative effort played a critical role in
identifying, locating, and the arresting the suspects responsible for multiple vehicle thefts.”
On December 4, Livermore police participated in a Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team
search in Richmond. At the 16-year-old suspect’s residence, police found a hood that came from a car
stolen in Livermore, which was installed on the suspect’s car.
Upon further investigation, the 16-year-old was arrested by Danville police. Livermore police later
arrested the 17-year-old suspect in San Pablo.
Both suspects were booked at Contra Costa County Juvenile Hall in Martinez. They face multiple
charges involving vehicle thefts, attempted vehicle thefts, and conspiracy to commit crime.
