Welfare Check Leads to Felony Arrest, Seizure of Firearm and Narcotics in Yuba City
YUBA CITY, CA — “On December 8, 2025, at approximately 9:00 AM, deputies contacted an adult male found asleep in a vehicle on Edwin Drive in Yuba City. During the welfare check, deputies observed a firearm and narcotics in plain view. The male, identified as Dwayne McDaniel of Sacramento, was detained safely without incident.
A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of a loaded 9mm handgun, ammunition, methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia. Deputies later confirmed McDaniel is a convicted felon and prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition. He also had two out of county warrants.
McDaniel was arrested and booked into the Sutter County Jail for multiple felony firearm and narcotics violations, as well as the outstanding warrants.”
