Man Detained in Orange Avenue Incident After Allegedly Pointing Replica Handgun Lighter
CORONADO, CA — November 30th 2025 — “Last night around 6:53 PM, officers responded to the 1000 block of Orange Ave after reports of a man pointing what appeared to be a handgun at people. With help from SDPD ABLE helicopter, officers safely located and detained the individual. The “handgun” was determined to be a lighter made to look like a firearm.
The 46-year-old suspect who was on parole and had an active misdemeanor warrant, was booked on that warrant.
Despite some social media posts, there was no shooting, and no real firearms were located during this incident.”
