Strong-Armed Robbery in Castroville Leaves Two Injured; Sheriff’s Office Seeks Information
CASTROVILLE, CA — The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office has initiated an investigation into a strong-armed robbery that occurred in Castroville over the weekend, resulting in injuries to two individuals.
Deputies responded to the 10600 block of Merritt Street on November 1, 2025, just after 2:30 AM, following a report of an assault. Upon arrival, two victims were located, both of whom had sustained visible injuries.
The victims reported that they were approaching their vehicle, parked along Merritt Street, when they were approached by three male suspects. One victim was physically assaulted by the suspects, and personal property was taken. The victim was later treated for their injuries at a local hospital. A second victim, who attempted to intervene and assist the first, was also physically assaulted and sustained a minor injury.
The three individuals fled the area on foot and were last seen running from the scene. The suspects were described by victims as wearing all black clothing, black face masks, and black hoods over their heads.
The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office is seeking information regarding this investigation. Authorities are urging local businesses and residents in the area to review any video surveillance footage that could assist detectives.
