Man Showing Off “Glock 19” Falls Prey to Weapon

According to King City police, a man apparently was defeated in a game of Russian Roulette early Saturday morning, the game being played against himself.

According to the police report, King City Police report units were dispatched the 300 block of Mustang Court on a report of a subject who had been shot in the head. Officers found Jose Rodriguez Garcia (AKA: Cookie) lying on the ground in the driveway area where he had sustained an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to his facial area, actually blowing off part of his jaw.

American Medical Responders transported Garcia to MMH where he was immediately flown by CALSTAR to the San Jose Regional Medical Center. As of late Monday evening Garcia was reported to be in critical condition, according to the report.
King City Sgt. Brandon Lux says the investigation revealed Garcia was playing with a Glock 19 and showing it to a friend when he unloaded the gun and put it to his head, pulling the trigger. Garcia’s friend advised him to stop playing with the weapon but he didn’t. Garcia reloaded the Glock, chambering a round. Garcia then put the gun to his head and shot himself.
Police say Garcia staggered through the house and fell into the driveway after throwing the gun over a fence, which police later found.
All evidence was consistent with the witness’s recounting of the event, and police said there were no signs of foul play.
