Ten Arrested in South Monterey County Sweep

A “4 cities for peace” gang suppression operation on Friday with 47 law enforcement officers and agents, operating under the California Gang Reduction, Intervention and Prevention (CalGRIP) initiative, arrested ten people during thirteen parole / probation searches and about sixty vehicle and pedestrian stops in Greenfield, Soledad, and King City.

The arrested were identified as:

41 year old Kelley Hernandez for Possession of a Controlled Substance, Probation Violation.
27 year old Denise Villapania for Possession of Narcotics.
29 year old Antonio Zarate for Felony Warrant (Possession of Stolen Property).
20 year old Rigoberto Castro for a Probation Violation.
20 year old Steven Ponce for Probation Violation and Transportation of Marijuana.

In addition to the five adults listed above, four juveniles were also arrested for various charges including probation violation, drunk in public and driving without a license.

One person arrested in the action was not identified as either an adult or a juvenile.
