Porterville Police Arrest Suspect on Home Invasion, Multiple Vandalism Charges
PORTERVILLE, CA – On October 25, 2025, a Porterville resident was taken into custody following an incident that included home invasion and vandalism.
At approximately 10:20 P.M. that evening, officers from the Porterville Police Department were dispatched to a residence on the 300 block of East Putnam Avenue following a report of an unknown male subject entering an occupied home. An arriving officer located the suspect, later identified as 21-year-old Jesse Rey Dennis, a Porterville resident, concealing himself on the front porch.
The officer issued verbal commands, which Dennis initially followed. However, upon being contacted by the officer, the suspect began to resist arrest. The officer was ultimately able to take Dennis into custody.
Following the apprehension, investigators determined that Dennis had first entered the property’s backyard and caused approximately $150.00 in damages to the rear fence. He then made entry into the main residence through an unlocked front door. The homeowner confronted Dennis, who was then escorted out of the home. The suspect subsequently attempted, unsuccessfully, to force his way back through the now-locked front door.
As the investigation continued, officers contacted a resident on the 200 block of North Roche Street. This resident reported that Dennis had been on their property as well, causing an estimated $1,000.00 in damages to a vehicle and a carport.
Dennis was transported and booked into the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office South County Detention Facility. He faces charges of Home Invasion, Felony Vandalism, Misdemeanor Vandalism, and Resisting and Obstructing a Police Officer. Bail for Dennis has been set at $30,000.
