7th Grade Student Arrested After Stabbing Incident at Coronado Middle School
CORONADO, CA — October 14th 2025 — “At approximately 10:20 AM this morning, officers responded to an incident involving two students at Coronado Middle School. Both students have been located. One student is currently receiving treatment for injuries sustained during the incident.
There is no active threat to students or staff at this time. The school is not on lockdown. Out of an abundance of caution, officers conducted a security sweep of the campus.
This afternoon, detectives continued their investigation and interviewed several witnesses to the attack. Both the suspect and the victim are 7th grade students. The incident occurred in the Coronado Middle School library during a class break, when an altercation took place. During the altercation, the male suspect stabbed the female victim twice with a pocket knife.
The victim was transported to Rady Children’s Hospital. The suspect is currently in custody.
Due to the ages of the individuals involved, no further identifying information will be released at this time. We thank the Coronado school community for their support and cooperation as the investigation continues.”
