Two arrested in connection with Lemon Grove shooting

“Two people are under arrest in connection with a shooting in Lemon Grove.

The incident happened on February 3rd just after 6:00 p.m. in the 6900 block of Broadway.  Deputies arrived on the scene and found a man who had been shot multiple times.  He was taken to a local hospital and is expected to survive.

Over the next several days, detectives from the Lemon Grove Sheriff’s Substation and Rancho San Diego Sheriff’s Station followed up on numerous leads and were able to identify two suspects in this case: 24-year-old Jacob Reyes (DOB 12/28/1996) and his sister, 25-year-old Jaysena Reyes (DOB 5/19/1995).

On Tuesday, February 10th, Jacob Reyes was located by the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force (FTF) at a home in Lemon Grove.  The Sheriff’s Special Enforcement Detail (SED)/SWAT assisted the Fugitive Task Force with taking him into custody on suspicion of attempted murder a little after midnight on February 11th.

Jacob Reyes was also on federal probation for unrelated crimes and booked into federal custody for a probation violation.  He will be booked into county custody once the probation violation is cleared.

Jaysena Reyes was arrested after turning herself in to deputies on February 11th.  She is facing charges of being an accessory to a crime.”
