MARTINEZ, CA — A man with a violent history was arrested on suspicion of murder and booked into the Martinez Detention Facility. Kyle Q. Daniels, a 31-year-old Martinez resident, remains in custody ineligible for release on bond, pending his arraignment on October 14.

The murder happened last March. Someone heard a man yelling “intruder” and reported this to the Martinez police. MPD officers responded to a residence on Hale Court shortly before 5 a.m. on March 15.

Inside the residence, police found Dual Moore, 31, suffering from serious injuries. The victim was transported to a hospital trauma center for medical treatment. Unfortunately, despite efforts to save his life, Moore was pronounced dead at the hospital.

A possible motive has yet to be announced publicly. Though it turns out the suspect and victim knew each other. Before succumbing to his injuries, Moore reportedly told Martinez police that Daniels entered his home without permission, and attacked him.

In partnership with the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office, Martinez police conducted an extensive investigation. This investigation resulted in Martinez police placing Daniels under arrest on September 25.

Daniels is charged with murder, with an enhanced special allegation for use of deadly/dangerous weapon.

Prior to his most recent arrest, Daniels had been apprehended numerous times since April 2021 on various offenses, including multiple domestic violence incidents. One of these incidents occurred within the BART transit system.
