THOUSAND OAKS, CA –– October 2, 2025 – A Thousand Oaks man is in custody after a violent domestic dispute escalated into threats with a
firearm, leading detectives to uncover stolen artwork and an arsenal of weapons inside his home.
Law enforcement officials were called out the morning of Oct. 1st “to investigate a
domestic violence report.”
Upon arrival at the reported residence, deputies made contact with 31-year-old Ryan Bloom, who
allegedly assaulted the 33-year-old woman who reported the incident.
The investigation led to the determination that Bloom had “attacked the victim and pointed a gun at
her.”
Detectives developed probable cause to arrest Bloom on multiple felony counts and learned he was barred from owning firearms or
ammunition but was in possession of both.
Ventura County Sheriff’s SWAT team was brought in to execute a search
warrant which led to the discovery of firearms, ammunition, and “several high-value paintings,
reported stolen from a private collection.”
Bloom was transported to Ventura County Jail, where he was booked on charges of domestic
violence, assault with a deadly weapon, criminal threats, false imprisonment, sexual assault, and
multiple counts related to firearm and ammunition possession.
He remains in custody with his bail set at $1,000,000.
