Repeat DUI Offender Arrested After Pursuit and Crash in Visalia
VISALIA, CA — September 21st 2025 “Just before 6:30 p.m. last night, a Visalia Police officer attempted to stop a vehicle that ran a red light at Mooney Boulevard and Visalia Parkway. The driver refused to pull over, leading officers on a pursuit southbound on Mooney to Avenue 268.
The suspect then veered off the road, driving westbound along a ditch bank and onto Road 108, eventually heading south and onto the shoulder near Cartmill Avenue. The pursuit ended when the vehicle crashed into a street sign and came to a stop against a traffic signal pole.
The driver, 35-year-old Jose Valdivia, ran into a nearby orchard, but officers quickly chased him down and took him into custody. Valdivia was found to be heavily intoxicated and has a history of DUI offenses.
He now faces multiple charges, including felony evading (2800.2 VC), felony DUI — 7th offense (23152 VC), driving without a required ignition interlock device (23247 VC), driving on a suspended license (14601 VC), resisting arrest (148 PC), running a red light (21453 VC), and hit-and-run causing property damage (20002 VC).
Valdivia was transported for a jail clearance and will be booked at the Tulare County Adult Pre-Trial Facility. #visaliapd ”
