“On February 21, 2022, at 2:59 a.m. an officer attempted to stop a vehicle in the area of Shirk and Goshen. The vehicle continued southbound Shirk and turned eastbound onto Hurley where a failure to yield began.

As the pursuit continued eastbound Hurley approaching Akers the pursuit was terminated for public safety. The suspect vehicle continued eastbound Hurley through Akers.

A few minutes later, Visalia Police Department Dispatch received a call for service at Linwood and Douglas regarding a vehicle colliding into a parked vehicle. Officers arrived in the area and located the vehicle which in fact had struck a parked car and was determined to be the vehicle from the failure to yield. The driver ran from the car and was taken into custody by responding officers.

The suspect was identified as 30-year-old Walter Lewis. There were no injuries as a result of the traffic collision.

Suspect Lewis was booked at the Tulare County Pre-Trial Facility for Failure to Yield, Resisting Arrest, and numerous outstanding warrants.”
