SAN RAFAEL, CA — Detectives from the Marin County Sheriff’s Office arrested a couple for allegedly selling illicit drugs in Marin County. Philip R. Gardner, 30, of San Rafael, and Emily I. Ramirez, 20, of Walnut Creek, were booked at Marin County Jail on September 18.
Gardner and Ramirez became the subjects of an uncover investigation launched in July. Cocaine and prescription drugs were sold on three separate occasions to detectives from the Marin County Specialized Investigative Unit.
Search warrants were served at a Walnut Creek residence on September 18, said a prepared statement from the Marin County Sheriff’s Office. “Detectives seized suspected cocaine for sale, as well as suspected MDMA and LSD in amounts consistent with sales.”
Various kinds of prescription drugs, a loaded firearm, and approximately $16,000 in cash were also recovered during the search.
While the search was in progress, Gardner arrived at the residence in Walnut Creek. A K-9 unit accompanying detectives sniffed out more trouble for Gardner. The dog alerted detectives to the presence of drugs inside his vehicle.
“A search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of additional quantities of cocaine and MDMA,” according to the sheriff’s office.
Gardner and Ramirez were each booked on suspicion of –
· Possession of a controlled substance for sale
· Transport of a controlled substance
· Sale or transportation of controlled substance
· Possession of a controlled substance
· Conspiracy to commit a misdemeanor
“Both suspects subsequently bailed out of custody, and have a future court date,” said the statement from the sheriff’s office.
