Weekend Traffic Stop Leads to Felony Weapons Charges
ROCKLIN, CA — “Over the weekend, our COPPS Unit conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with four occupants after detecting a strong odor of marijuana billowing from the open windows.
During the stop, the driver attempted to retrieve identification from a bag in the backseat but was instructed not to. A probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted based on the odor of fresh marijuana. Inside the bag, officers located a loaded Glock handgun, which was determined to have the serial number removed.
The driver, identified as Rokiem Taylor of Sacramento, was arrested and booked on two felony weapons charges.”
