Father and Son Arrested in Separate Juvenile Sex Crime Cases in Shasta County

SHASTA COUNTY, CA — A father and son have reportedly been arrested in connection with a juvenile sexual assault investigation in Shasta County.

According to a press release by the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office, investigators opened a case in May of 2025 into allegations of sexual assault involving a minor. This led to the identification of Brad Lee Chase, 79, as the primary suspect.

The juvenile victim alleged multiple instances of sexual assault by Chase, authorities said.

Investigators reportedly then discovered a second case involving Chase’s son, 40-year-old Christopher Lee Brent-Chase; Brent-Chase had been identified as a suspect in a child sexual abuse material investigation.

Ultimately, felony arrest warrants were issued for both men.

On Wednesday, Sept. 3, both were arrested and booked into the Shasta County jail. Chase was booked on suspicion of lewd and lascivious acts with a minor, while Brent-Chase was booked on suspicion of the possession of child sexual abuse material (CSAM).

Chase’s bail was set at $50,000 and Brent-Chase’s at $25,000, according to authorities.
