Sheriff’s Office: Suspicious behavior call leads to discovery of drugs, gun

What started out as a suspicious activity report ended with the arrests of two men on narcotic and weapon charges, according to the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office.

Just before 3 AM on Tuesday, April 26, a deputies responded to a report by Win-River security staff of two individuals in a white Toyota Avalon behaving suspiciously.

Responding deputies met with the two individuals — identified as Keith Stumbaugh (42) and Shawn Roberson (24).

K-9 Deputy Fritz was also brought in to conduct a narcotics check, and ultimately alerted deputies to the presence of narcotics. Deputies also located two glass smoking pipes, and a lock box containing a 9mm Bersa semiautomatic handgun, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Both men were ultimately arrested and booked at the Shasta County Jail on weapon and possession charges.
